Additional qualification for teachers in vocational language courses in accordance with Section 18 (5) DeuFöV
Additional qualification for teachers in vocational language courses in accordance with Section 18 (5) DeuFöV
Since 2016, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) has been running vocational language courses based on the Ordinance on Vocational German Language Support (DeuFöV) in accordance with Section 45a (3) of the Residence Act (AufenthG) through private and public providers. The aim of these courses is to achieve cross-professional German language skills at a certain language level (A2-C2 CEFR). In contrast, in job-specific special courses for individual occupational groups, language skills are acquired in subject-specific lessons as part of the recognition of professional qualifications acquired abroad or as part of a qualification measure.
In order to teach in vocational language courses, teachers must, from 1 July 2022, have a qualification to teach vocational German language skills in accordance with Section 18 (5) DeuFöV.
The IB Language Institute Munich received approval to offer this additional qualification in the summer of 2020.
The ZQ BSK requires 80 teaching units to be completed online. In addition, there are another 80 teaching units in self-study phases and the submission of a portfolio.
Dates and registration details can be found on the IB website.
